Ceiba @ BURNING MAN 1997 Last year CCC,Verbum and Ceiba and the entire S.F. trance community organized the only techno/trance event at the Burning Man Festival in the Black Rock Desert/Nevada.After the burning of the Man, the climactic outburst of energy of the over 12,ooo participants, resembling mideval rituals of carnival and witch-burning, Ceiba performed live at the main stage for an hour, premiering the track "23 ° under the sun".Then Goa Gil took over until eight in the morning, not discouraged by a huge mad-max like blow-torch vehicle, blasting a huge flame at him in the middle of the night, commanding some Led Zeppelin music !!! (apparently not all of the unleashed energy was positive...Burning Man is a place and community of anarchy and self-expression, that definitely also represents and fosters the dark aspects of humanity.)But the sunrise was beautiful as it can only be after a tranced-out desert night and the music, the morning, and a couple of hundred dancers, dusty, exhausted and blissed-out, set a final positive, colorful and peaceful mark on the playa.

Burning Man 1998 was a fabulous experience once again, with sandstorms and rain and 20 00 nutty participants out on the playa. The "(cosmic) community (trance) dance" rocked in its second year with DJs Goa Gil, Ollie Wisdom and Lucas. Litarally dancing up a storm the party had to be abruptly closed down at nine in the morning and all electrical equipment packed up because of heavy thunderstorm warnings...To recapture the spirit of the first community dance 1997 check out Ceiba Records fourth release -Double CD with the live set of Ceiba /Kode IV and Goa Gils DJ Set
