Ceiba
Records presents the long-awaited debut solo release from San Francisco
artist Shakatura.
The album delivers a fresh blend of psychedelic downtempo groove, funky
dub, and lush trip hop. This release follows on the heels of Shakatura's
"All Hallow's Morning" released on Ceiba's language of Light 3 earlier
this year. Shakatura (aka Galen Butler) has been busy with SF's progressive
label Looq Records as well, releasing successful 12" singles as The
Activity, Telemetry, and Shakatura within the last year. Over the last
three years, he has has been a regular guest DJ with SF's Thump Radio,
and has played many major west coast festivals such as Fusion, Earthdance,
and Burning Man. Further release plans include a track on Ceiba's forthcoming
Miditation II compilation, remixes for vinyl, and a follow-up album.
